The Only Primer You’ll Ever Need

In Evening, Events, Everyday, Face, Makeup, Primer on December 13, 2010 at 6:00 am

Although technically they’ve been around forever, primers have really taken off in the past few years.  It seems like every cosmetics company has one in their line and it can seem a tad overwhelming when you’re searching for your first product. L’Oreal have just released their Studio Secrets range with Linda Evangelista as the face, and within their range is the Studio Secrets Professional Smoothing Resurfacing Primer.  And it’s a winner.

Miracle worker.

Most primers are silky in texture to create a smooth base for you to apply your makeup, however Studio Secrets Professional Smoothing Resurfacing Primer likes to play it a little different.  The texture of this baby is a mix between marshmallow and souffle – so delicate and aerated that you’re tempted to punch your finger right in!

When I first put some onto my finger and then smoothed it into my skin, I noticed little globules that seemed to rub off, causing what could have been a waste of product.  However, after rubbing over them a few times, they eventually smoothed into the rest of the primer and onto my skin.  The result feels amazing.

Looks good enough to eat.

Do you like velvet?  You better, because that’s what your skin feels like after applying this primer.  All little lines and bumps are smoothed over and, well, resurfaced!  The best thing, though, is that the product doesn’t leave your skin sticky (as some of the liquid primers do) but rather dry and matte – the way perfect skin would actually be.  It’s the perfect surface for your next step – makeup!

At $39.95, it’s worth picking one of these up next time you head to the shops.  A little goes a long way and your makeup will last well throughout the day.  Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
