Tomorrow’s Christmas Day, where we’ll be faced with more food and drinks than we could possibly fathom. It’s often the day we lose our drive to eat healthily and promise to start again once the clock ticks over to Boxing Day, but the damage could already be done. If you want to still feel fresh and enjoy Christmas this year, here are five tips on doing just that …
- Prepare. Have a big bottle of water before heading to your uncle’s Chrissy bash. Not only will it slow alcohol intake, it will keep you fuller for longer and you’ll be able to say ‘no’ to the second serving of pumpkin pie without your tummy rumbling in protest.
- Drink light alcohol. It’s tipped to be a scorcher tomorrow, so be sure to drink lighter drinks and non-alcoholic if possible. We know this isn’t always the case, so go for the clearer drinks (wine spritzers, gin and tonics, etc) rather than heavy red wines and egg nogs to stave off a hangover and sore tummy in the evening.
- Take advantage of the season. The summer season, that is, not the festive one. There will be an abundance of fresh salads, seafood and fruit on the Christmas table, so be sure to head for that rather than the fruit mince pies and Christmas cakes come dessert.
- Get some rest. Wherever possible today, tomorrow and on boxing day, take some time to lie down and get some shut-eye. It’s the best thing you can do for beauty and health over Christmas.
- Be safe. Please, please, please don’t drink and drive, beauties. We love you, and want to hear from you after Christmas and well into the New Year. Read the rest of this entry »
