Ladies, you have to agree with me there is nothing better than feeling sexy, confident and beautiful – just for you.  But how do you get that way if you’ve worked three different deadlines in a row, felt sick from lunch and been told some horrible news?  You schedule it!  Just like your dentist appointment or meeting your superiors, this is important, too.  Once a week is all I ask, and I’ll explain why it’s so great right now…

Tonight was my ‘Beauty Night’.  I try to schedule one a week or – failing that – one a fortnight.  On ‘Beauty Night’ everything gets done. And I mean everything.  Here’s my ‘To Do’ list…

.

Obviously there’s no way I could (nor should) do all these on a daily basis, so scheduling one night a week to check everything off the list is not only a great idea, but also something to look forward to.  Because you feel AMAZING afterwards.

.

It’s all in the products you use – ‘Beauty Night’ is not the night to skimp on products. On ‘Beauty Night’ it’s the best of the best.  Here are my must haves, working down the ‘To Do’ list: Read the rest of this entry »

Botanics of Australia – Making Aussies Smell Great since 2011

In Bath, Cleanse, Eco Friendly, Everyday, New, Scent, Skin Care, Spa, Tested on August 15, 2011 at 6:00 am

By Tammi Ireland

Botanics of Australia is another of my latest great discoveries. Inspired by nature, boa allowed me to take time, relax, treat my body and smell amazing all at once when using their products.  It was an amazing experience.

I like to have fun with my products.

The boa Smoothing Body Scrub is the brand’s hero product thanks to its delicious lime smell.  It’s extremely zingy and took me a while to place the scent, which I decided reminded me of the lime lollies I used to get post-netball games as a child.  Fresh smelling and with delightful little Wattleseed exfoliants, the scrub has made its way into my ‘everyday essentials’.  Hero.  Read the rest of this entry »

Orglamic.  No, not the word you’re thinking of but still one you want to hear all about! According to the people at Grown skin care, it means luxury organic skin care – not for hippies but for those who are smart about what they put on their skin.

The new range from Grown features six new products and gorgeous new packaging and is available nationally through David Jones, Myer and other selected stockists. Read the rest of this entry »

Annette Gohl (25), Editor of Wellness WA

Beauty routine (day):  Oh gosh!  Okay, at the moment:  Sodashi Lime & Clay Cleanser w/Kosmea Muslin Cloth, Philosophy Shower Gel in Melon Sorbet (delish), Sodashi moisturiser.  Really simple, I’m low-key / a bit lazy with this at the moment. Read the rest of this entry »

Tested: Adorn Mineral Makeup

In Blush, Cheeks, Colour, Complexion, Eco Friendly, Eyes, Face, Foundation, Illuminator, Makeup, Making the Switch, Natural, Preparation, Primer, Skin Care, Sun, Tested on May 12, 2010 at 10:31 am

Finding natural and organic skin care is relatively easy – there are several independent brands leading the way, and now even larger companies are releasing natural sides to their usual products.  Finding natural makeup, however, has proved difficult.  While the brands exist, I’ve found many fail to deliver and so the search continued.

Last week, Adorn Mineral Cosmetics arrived on my doorstep.  One hundred per cent natural, with SPF 20+ in their loose foundations, water resistant, cruelty free, Australian made, a member of The Vegan Society, and no chemicals or nasty ingredients, Adorn checks all the boxes.

Natural v. Organic – Part III

In ACO, Breakouts, ChantalV, Complexion, Eco Friendly, Guest, Making the Switch on April 28, 2010 at 8:27 am

The final installment, following on from Chantal’s previous two posts:  The Natural Way to Go.

“Due to the lack of standards, national and international regulations (unlike the food industry), a product can be called “natural” even though only one natural ingredient has been used in the chemical based formulation and it is often in the smallest proportion as well. It’s the same with “organic” – only 1% organic content is required!

Product of the Day!

In Brushes, Eco Friendly, Tools, Uncategorized on April 27, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Less product, more tool, today I am loving the ecoTOOLS‘ Recycled Retractable Kabuki.  It’s tiny, measuring just 9.5cm when covered with its lid, and very small in diameter. Quite complex, really, the Retractable Kabuki is like a personal powder brush to carry in your handbag.  With a lid and a retractable case, you can be guaranteed no powder will spill inside your Gucci lining.  The synthetic Taklon bristles are 100 per cent cruelty free and (as you would know from my last post on ecoTOOLS) way softer than any other synthetic hairs I’ve felt. Unpacked Smelly Things – Yum!

In Bath, Dry Skin, Eco Friendly, Exfoliation, Fun Stuff, Natural, Preparation, Scent, Skin Care on April 23, 2010 at 3:31 pm

Lush make fresh, handmade cosmetics that smell deeeeee-vine!  They have bath bombs and soaps and shower gel and skin care.  And, a lot of their products aren’t wrapped, meaning they have little harm to the environment! Lush stuff, Lush!

I particularly like the Lush Sugar Babe body scrub.  It’s completely natural and smells delicious.  With the Fairtrade sugar as its main ingredient, you can sloth away your dead skin cells and any worries you have about harming the environment, too.   Read the rest of this entry »
