Ladies, you have to agree with me there is nothing better than feeling sexy, confident and beautiful – just for you.  But how do you get that way if you’ve worked three different deadlines in a row, felt sick from lunch and been told some horrible news?  You schedule it!  Just like your dentist appointment or meeting your superiors, this is important, too.  Once a week is all I ask, and I’ll explain why it’s so great right now…

Tonight was my ‘Beauty Night’.  I try to schedule one a week or – failing that – one a fortnight.  On ‘Beauty Night’ everything gets done. And I mean everything.  Here’s my ‘To Do’ list…

.

Obviously there’s no way I could (nor should) do all these on a daily basis, so scheduling one night a week to check everything off the list is not only a great idea, but also something to look forward to.  Because you feel AMAZING afterwards.

.

It’s all in the products you use – ‘Beauty Night’ is not the night to skimp on products. On ‘Beauty Night’ it’s the best of the best.  Here are my must haves, working down the ‘To Do’ list: Read the rest of this entry »

I Loved Europe; Europe Didn’t Love My Hair

In Dye, Hair, Shampoo & Conditioner, Treatment, Weather, Western Australia, Women on October 31, 2011 at 6:00 am

By Tammi Ireland

Two weeks ago I returned from a 40-day tour of Europe.  I travelled to beautiful cities, ate amazing food and made life-long friends.  Not, however, with European water, which was a source of frustration for many of my female travelling companions.  You see, European water strips your hair of its natural softness and oils, leaving it dry and impossible to brush without a triple rinse and repeat with conditioner.

This is my hair after less than two weeks in Europe.

Add to that the fact I’m growing out a fringe, and it took all my courage not to wear my hair up every day.  No number of treatments could salvage the softness I once had in Australia, and blow-drying hair straight after washing further fried the ends.  There was zero heat protection and it was evident in the finished product.  Read the rest of this entry »

Review: SPL at the Hairfree Centre

In Ali Sims, Hair, Salons, Tested, Treatment on March 16, 2011 at 6:00 am

By Ali Sims

The thought of never having to shave my underarms again is somewhere between finding the perfect foundation (shop lighting can be pretty betraying) and meeting Rachel Zoe, so I’ve decided to live a free lifestyle outside of the realms of our conventional society…

.

Ha! No, I joke.  Actually, I’ve decided to commit myself to a minimum six treatments (at six weeks apart) of ‘Square Pulsed Light’ otherwise known as SPL.  Sounds expensive?  Sometimes yes, but I found that’s not the case if you visit the Hairfree Centre!  I had my first appointment with the lovely Holly of the Hairfree Centre in Claremont last week, and I could even afford to do a little shopping afterward! Treat Yourself and Others!

In Charity, Relaxation, Treatment, Western Australia on September 10, 2010 at 6:00 am

On Friday, September 24 (which, coincidentally, is also my birthday) Perth College of Beauty Therapy is having a charity day.  As they are a female only college they feel very passionate about helping disadvantaged females. That’s why they’ve chosen to support women’s refuges.

Current and previous students, friends, family and the general public are invited to book a beauty service anytime from 10am and 3pm with college students.  Treatment times are 30 minutes and you may select from a back massage, back cleanse & exfoliation, facial treatment, manicure or pedicure.  Each treatment is only $10 and multiple treatments are encouraged.
